John’s involvement in the building industry and his representation of construction industry clients draws on more than 35 years of hands-on experience. Meeting the legal needs of contractors ranging from transactional to litigation issues, he has also represented clients in Workers Compensation actions, OSHA and Department of Industrial Relations administrative proceedings, employment disputes, and other industry related matters.

In addition to trials, arbitrations and mediations for contractor clients, John has been involved in several significant appellate cases on important construction law issues handed down over the last few years.
Dedicated to Education
John has taught a variety of construction scheduling, construction estimating, and construction law classes at local community colleges throughout the North Bay. In the Spring of 2011, he will be teaching a course in construction law through the College of Marin’s community education department.
Construction Industry Background
For many years, John worked in the construction industry as a general contractor, senior project manager and general manager for large and mid-sized developer/general contractors. He has been responsible for construction projects throughout the Bay Area including residential subdivision and multi family projects, commercial mid-rise projects, and historic renovations. He currently serves as general counsel for a large public works general contractor in Northern California.
