Quinlan Reappointed to State Compensation Insurance Fund Board

News | 11.23.09 | Sacramento Bee

Archer Norris special counsel Francis E. Quinlan was reappointed to the 11-person State Compensation Insurance Fund Board of Directors on November 23, 2009.

The State Compensation Insurance Fund (SCIF) is a workers' compensation insurer that was created as a public enterprise fund by the State of California. Included in the state’s 2009-2010 budget is a proposal to sell a portion of SCIF assets to help resolve the state’s budget deficit. As reported by the Sacramento Bee, filling all the open positions on the SCIF Board could help the state secure the sale.

Schwarzenegger spokesman Mike Naples commented, “Specifically with regards to the actions of the board, the governor is confident that they will pursue policies that ensure a stable workers’ compensation system for California.”
