WALNUT CREEK, CALIF., September 4, 2008 – Chuck Diaz and Roger Marken join Archer Norris as of counsel to expand its insurance practice in Southern California. Diaz and Marken were formerly partners with Murtaugh, Meyer, Nelson & Treglia. Diaz will be based in Archer Norris’s Los Angeles office, and Marken will work out of the firm’s Newport Beach office, adding essential depth and breadth to the firm’s insurance practice and ever-expanding Southern California presence.

The two new of counsel have each worked in the insurance industry for over 25 years, and have significant insurance coverage and litigation capabilities. Their practice combines seamlessly with Archer Norris’s insurance coverage, complex litigation, errors and omissions and bad faith practice.
Charles R. Diaz represents major insurance companies and their insureds and focuses his practice on complex insurance coverage and litigation, including bad faith, environmental coverage, errors and omissions, general liability, excess liability coverage and reinsurance matters. Diaz is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel and has an AV Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating.
He received his J.D. from the University of Southern California in 1979 and his B.A. cum laude from Pitzer College, Claremont in 1975.
Roger E. Marken is a seasoned litigator and advisor in insurance related matters. He currently serves as national coordinating counsel for several international insurance carriers where he oversees cases throughout the United States. Marken also has experience in insurance bad faith, insurance coverage for environmental, toxic tort, product liability, errors and omissions, environmental contamination and coverage under comprehensive general liability. He specializes in consulting with insurance companies on underwriting, reinsurance and claims analysis. Marken is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel and has an AV Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating.
Marken received his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law in 1972 and his B.S. from the University of Washington in 1967.
